The Pikki Pikki in AuraBattlez, one hand per beat

Just launched AuraBattlez and want to understand how it works fast? This guide covers everything, in the order you'll discover it. All the numbers are the game's own.

The tutorial

The game opens with a two-minute warm-up: you learn to tap when a bubble hits the circle, then to keep your finger on a bar until the end. Then three guided rounds teach you to read your opponent's bubble. You can skip it at any time.

The rhythm

Every move is played the way it's danced. When you pick a move, its rhythm appears at the bottom of the screen:

  • a bubble: tap the moment it reaches the circle;
  • a bar: keep your finger down until the end.

Every note is rated Perfect, Good, Close or Miss. All perfect means infinite aura. Too many misses and the move fails. Meanwhile, your character dances the move live, on your timing.

The rhythm: bubbles reach the circle, the streak climbs with every perfect note

The three types

Cold beats Chaos, Chaos beats Hot, Hot beats Cold. Before each round, the bubble above your opponent shows the type they are planning, and your moves that beat it are marked BEATS. Every opponent has a personality, written above your moves: some bluff, others always repeat the same type.

Hype and the Signature

Every move you land fills your Hype. At 50, your Signature unlocks: your character's ultimate move, and a very strong one. The Showman perk makes it cheaper.

What there is to do

  • High School, the five-chapter campaign. Each level gives up to three stars, and stars unlock perks.
  • Ranked battles, to climb from Bronze to Legend through Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Your opponents get stronger in every league.
  • The daily challenge, with a score to beat.
  • The tournament, three battles in a row for a trophy.
  • The studio, to practice a move's rhythm with no pressure.
  • VS a friend, live, each on your own phone.

Progression

You earn sauce, the in-game currency, in every battle. It unlocks characters, moves and outfits. Daily quests, the login streak and the free season give some too. A move played all perfect three times in battle becomes mastered, and every mastery level adds aura.

Our tips to improve fast

  1. Start with moves that have few notes, like the 6-7 or the staredown.
  2. Calibrate the rhythm in Profile if you play with Bluetooth earbuds.
  3. Check each opponent's personality before trusting their bubble.
  4. Save your Signature for a close round.
  5. Practice your favorite moves in the studio: mastery gives you aura for good.
